Our final award is the Louis Boudon Award for Outstanding Performer on both the NA3HL and NAHL Generals.
Louis Boudon played for the Generals from 2017-2019 and was one of the best players in the NAHL. Boudon finished his tenure with the Generals as the all time record holder for the NAHL team in Goals (41), Assists (78), Points (119) and Points Per Game (1.102) in 108 games played.
Boudon was also MVP of the NA3HL before joining the Generals. His rise from the NA3HL to the top of the NAHL in 2 quick years was amazing. Early in 2018 Boudon committed to Lake Superior State and as a Freshman earned all conference rookie 1st team honors along with Lake State Rookie of the Year. In 67 games as a Laker Boudon has 14 goals and 32 assists for 46 points.
“The excellence Louis played with on the ice came from his work ethic off of the ice. He was not only one of the most skilled players in the league but the hardest working. He is a great example to all players that hard work really can propel you to even greater heights” Said Bryan Erikson.
The Louis Boudon Award Winner for the NA3HL Generals goes to James Clarke. Clarke came to the Generals at the beginning of the 2020-21 season and in 37 games he was a force. Clarke put up amazing numbers tallying 27 goals and 32 assists for 59 points while helping to lead the Generals to their first Fraser Cup appearance. In his 3 years in the NA3HL (previously with the Skylands Kings) Clarke played in 104 games. In his 104 games James recorded 84 goals and 80 assists for 164 points.
In his 1 year with the Generals Clarke was able to etch his name in the record books:
– 5th all time with a 1.595 PPG
– 10th best points in a season (59)
– 8th in goals in a season (27)
– 10th in +/- in a season (+47)
“James was great from Day 1. He is such a great kid, very mature, came into the room and was a leader both on and off the ice from the first practice. What he does on the ice is special too. He doesn’t just score goals, he is hard to play against, wins battles and is a great skater. He improved a lot along the walls too, which was a big factor in his development. Just a great kid to see everyday at the rink. Always happy, always working hard.” Said Head Coach Darryl Locke.
The NAHL Louis Boudon Award winner is presented to Liam McCanney. Liam just finished his 3rd season with the Generals after an outstanding career in the NAPHL for the Valley Forge Minutemen. Playing in all 60 games McCanney finished the season with 19 goals, 20 assists and 39 points. Overall in his Generals Career Liam has been one of the most durable players. Liam played in 165 out of a possible 170 games and didn’t miss a game in his last 2 seasons, playing in 116 straight games dating to the 2018-2019 season.
With all those games came a lot of improvement and scoring. In his Generals career Liam racked up 38 goals, 45 assists and 83 points. He ends his career with several records:
1st – All Time Games Played (165)
3rd – All Time Points (83)
2nd – All Time Goals (38)
5th – All Time Assists (45)
5th – Most Goals In A Season (19)
“You see Liam’s name all over our leader boards and it is no surprise. He works so hard. Great kid that came in 3 years ago and has gotten better each year (12 – 32 – 39 points per season). But the numbers on Liam don’t do enough justice to his impact on the Generals. He played hard. Not just hard but he hit and he hit a lot. He showed that you don’t have to be 6’5″ to be a physical player. You just have to have heart. And Liam has that. He shows it on the ice but also off the ice. Just an amazing young man that I will be forever close to. Great kid I am proud to have Coached.” Said Head Coach Bryan Erikson.
