The Northeast Generals are proud to announce that standout Defenseman Nick ReCupero has committed to play NCAA hockey for Plattsburgh!
Nick is a true ladder of development success story. Nick, from Avon, MA, played his high school hockey locally before joining the Austin Bruins in the NAHL. He went on to win a Fraser Cup with the Rochester Grizzlies in the NA3HL before being acquired in a trade with the NA3HL Generals. After playing in 13 games for the NA3HL Generals (and putting up 12 points in those game) he was called up to the NAHL Generals to stay.
Over 43 games in 2022-23 Nick had 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points and was a solid contributor in all phases of the game. This year Nick upped his game both on and off the ice. Nick was selected as Captain for the 2023-24 season and he has not disappointed. In 49 games so far this season Nick has 6 goals and 24 assists for 30 points.
“Nick is a great young man. Darry Locke our outstanding NA3HL coach really pushed to get Nick in the building and Darryl was right. He has simply been outstanding since joining the Generals. He has left a huge mark on the organization both on and off the ice. He is so solid on the blueliine. He just does everything well. He is so calm on the puck and makes great passes. Runs a great Power Play and is a standout on the Penalty Kill. He is going to leave a huge hole in our lineup next year. We are incredibly excited for Nick to being joining the great staff at Plattsburgh! We truly believe he will be an outstanding College hockey player. Plattsburgh is getting a great one!” Said Generals Head Coach Bryan Erikson.
