The Northeast Generals are thrilled to announce the tender signing of Forward Freddie Macciocchi. Macciocchi, 17, plays for the Academy of Holy Angels in Minnesota. The dynamic 6’0″ forward currently has 8 goals in 8 games, adding 2 assists for 10 points.
“I chose the Generals because they are a new organization committed to winning with great new facilities and coaching staff, located in the middle of a lot of great hockey in the Northeast. I plan on helping Generals win the Robertson Cup next year. Then to continue my hockey playing career at a Division 1 school while studying Business/Entrepreneurship.” said Macciocchi.
The Generals Director of Midwest Scouting Cory Hunt has watched Freddie the past 2 seasons ““Freddie is a high energy-high skilled forward with a high ceiling. He is 100% committed to getting better on and off the ice and it has shown in the past year. Freddie is unique that he has the skill set to contribute in a top 6 role or fit in as an energy bottom 6 guy who grinds and shuts down opposing teams top lines. We are really excited to welcome Freddie to the Generals organization and adds to our pool of Minnesota talent on the Generals roster” said Hunt.
“The Generals are excited to add another high end hockey player and more importantly a high end young man. We have had good success with Cory in identifying Minnesota hockey players that can fit in here both on and off the ice. Freddie brings a skill set and energy level that we feel will allow him to be an impact player right away. ” added Generals GM Bryan Erikson.
