The Northeast Generals, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are excited to announce the tender signing of Forward Trent Harsma of the Skipjacks Hockey Club U18 team for the 2018-2019 season. Harsma has 16 points in 12 league games so far this season, including 8 goals. “Trent has tremendous speed. Plus plus speed. He reminds us of Sato (currently at UNH) but actually faster. His speed is a game changer. But what really stands out is his ability to play in all 3 zones.” said GM Bryan Erikson. “Usually guys with his type of speed are very small but Trent is very solid, works out like crazy, and shown a willingness to play physically which will help him in the tough East Division.”
Harsma, from Iowa, is in his first season with the Skipjacks after playing for Sioux Falls U16 last year. He had previously played at Sioux City High School where he scored 31 goals and had 68 points in 2 years.
“We are extremely excited to have a player like Trent join the organization. His skating is exceptional and will allow him an easier transition to the NAHL. We think he will be a big factor for us right away.” according to Generals Head Coach Joe Lovell.
The Northeast Generals play in the North American Hockey League in Attleboro, MA at the New England Sports Village.
