Jun 3, 2020

The Northeast Generals of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that 1999 D man, Kyle Gierman, has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey at Lawrence University.

Gierman joined the Generals after playing his first year in the NA3HL for the Metro Jets (37 points in 42 games),  This led to  being tendered in 2017-18.  He joined the Generals for 3 games that year before joining the team full time in 2018-2019.  In 84 career games Kyle had 8 goals and 18 assists for 26 points.

Lawrence University plays in one of the top NCAA DIII conferences in the country, the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA),  Division rivals include Adrian College, St. Norberts, Lake Forest, Marian and Trine to name a few.

“We are so happy for Kyle.  He is such a great kid that came in and worked extremely hard.  He has a tremendous amount of skill and acted like a 4th forward for us many times.  His ability to jump in the rush and also get back and defend made us hard to play against any time he was on the ice.  But what makes this so great is what an awesome young man Kyle is.  Just a kid that always has a smile on his face and a willingness to get involved in the community at any time.  Really proud of him and happy for Lawrence University!” said Generals GM/Head Coach Bryan Erikson.
