The Northeast Generals are proud to announce the tender signing of standout Forward Anthony Messuri of Arlington, MA. Anthony will play his Junior Hockey in the same state he played his High School Hockey and where he will finally play his College Hockey.
Anthony has been a standout for the Cape Cod Whalers one of the premier Fall programs in Massachusetts. But while most of his teammates chose to play Midget or Prep hockey Anthony stayed at home, playing for his father John Messuri at Arlington High School. In his Junior year Anthony helped lead the Spyponders to their 4th straight Super 8 appearance. Along the way the skilled Forward had 15 goals and 19 assists for 34 points while playing one of the hardest schedules in High School Hockey.
His great season in Arlington earned him many accolades including his 2nd straight Middlesex League All Star Selection and a Boston Globe All Scholastic selection.
All of Anthony’s great play with both the Whalers and Arlington earned him a commitment to Northeastern University.
“We are incredibly excited to add a player of Anthony’s character to our program. He is obviously a very talented hockey player but what jumped out at us first was what a great kid he is. He’s a Coaches kid. A player that has gotten better at every step of his journey. He excels in Arlington, at the Whalers and we think that translates to our level and will help his development to make an impact at Northeastern.” Said Generals GM/Head Coach Bryan Erikson.
“The more kids we can get like Anthony the more it continues to create a great culture to play in. We are trying to go more local this year and you can’t get more local than playing your high school hockey, junior hockey and college hockey all in once state!.”
