The Northeast Generals are proud to announce the tendering of Colorado Rampage Defenseman Bryce Cooper! The Colorado Springs, CO native is a towering presence on the blue line at 6’6″ and 195 pounds.
Cooper has spent his entire youth career with the Rampage organization where he has developed his game. After being drafted by the Topeka Pilots in the NAHL Draft in 2020 Cooper returned to the Rampage and in 42 games played had 5 goals and 14 assists for 19 points. Bryce is currently with the Northeast Generals at the U18 NAHL Prospects Challenge where he has impressed the organization both on and off the ice while leading the Generals to a 4-0 record.
“Cody Gonyeau (Asst. GM) brought Bryce to our attention over a year ago and has done a great job tracking his progress. And Matt Dibble (GM) brought Bryce to the NAHL Prospects Challenge team after doing a ton of homework scouting him. Bryce immediately impressed on and off the ice. His skating at his size is very impressive. He moves very well laterally and plays with a great edge to his game. He makes a great first pass and is quick to jump up in the play and is great with the puck on his stick. He has a heavy shot and a great release. Loved his compete level and the fact that he has finished all of his checks. He is a real force out on the ice in all 3 zones and we feel he will be a huge addition to our rebuilt blueline. We are really excited for Bryce to join the Generals and look forward to him making a big impact.” Said Generals Head Coach Bryan Erikson.
General Manager Matt Dibble added “We are really excited to add Bryce to the Generals D corps. He is a big D man that moves well and plays with that aggressiveness that we were looking for. I think Bryce will be a huge addition to our team both on the ice and in the locker room. He has really impressed our staff this weekend and we can’t wait for Bryce to put on the Blue and Orange this fall.”
