Generals Place 6 at NAHL Top Prospects

Feb 12, 2018

What a difference a year makes!  In a great example of the Northeast Generals turnaround the team placed 5 players and a Coach among the leagues best at the February 27-28 Top Prospects Tournament in Plymouth, Michigan.

The East team (made up of the 5 divisional teams plus 3 wild card plaeyrs) had the Generals place 3 97’s.  The roster is comprised of the best uncommitted players in the league.  The Generals making the team:

Mike Egan, F, 1997:  17 goals, 29 assists, 46 points

Luke Perunovich, D, 1997:  3 goals, 23 assists, 26 points

Matt Wiesner, F, 1997:  18 goals, 18 assists, 26 points

“We had so many deserving guys this year.  But it is great to have 3 of our guys that endured a 4 win season last year get rewarded for all they have done.  We are incredibly proud of these three guys.  Having said that all the guys selected know that without the growth and play of their teammates they would not be here.” said GM Bryan Erikson

The Selects White team (made up by NHL Central Scouting with their choices of the top 99, 00 and 01 players) saw the Generals place 2 players and a Coach.  The Generals making the team:

Matt Demelis, F, 1999:  10 goals, 19 assists, 29 points (Committed to Northeastern)

Brady Gaudette, F, 1999:  8 goals, 14 assists, 22 points

Head Coach:  Joe Lovell

“Really proud of both of these guys.  They have done a great job all year and it is amazing for them to be recognized as elite younger players in the league.  Both have had a profound impact on the team this year.”  added Erikson.

“Joe being named Head Coach of the Selects team is a big deal too.  It just shows what an enormous impact he has had on helping turn this franchise around.  He is a great coach and mentor to the players.”
