Apr 21, 2020

The Northeast Generals of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce that 2000 Forward Max Borst has committed to play his NCAA D3 College Hockey at St. John’s University.

The Edian, Minnesota native joined the Generals for the 2nd half of the season and played 10 games.  Borst recorded 2 assists in those games but brought great leadership and grit to the team down the stretch.  In total Borst played 72 games in the NAHL over 2 seasons and recorded 8 goals and 13 assists.

“Max’s game goes way beyond numbers.  He plays hard at all times.  He gets pucks out and works real hard along the walls.  He was a great addition to our program both on the ice and in the locker room.  We are really happy for Max and think St. John’s got a great one.  His leadership and intensity will allow him to seamlessly adjust to College Hockey where I think he will make an immediate impact.”  Said Generals Head Coach Bryan Erikson.

St. John’s University is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).  They finished the 2019-2020 season in first place with a league record of 9-3-4 and an overall record of 12-9-5.
