Corcoran Commits to Amherst College

May 6, 2022

The Northeast Generals of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce that Forward Ryan Corocoran has committed to play his NCAA hockey at Amherst College.

Corcoran, from Duxbury, MA, joined the Generals this year and made an immediate and lasting impact on the team.  In 50 games played Ryan had 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points.  However, Ryan’s impact went much further than the score sheet.

Said Northeast Generals Head Coach Bryan Erikson “Ryan is a pro.  He goes about his business so well.  Always prepared on and off the ice.  His impact on our team was huge and he will leave a big hole in our lineup and in our locker room.  He is so good in all 3 zones.  His ability to defend and score is so high and will be hard to replicate.  But also his composure on the ice and on the bench was so great for our younger players to learn from.  We had a very emotional team this year but the one constant was Ryan’s ability to keep guys focused.  But we understand his decision as Amherst is one of the top schools in the country.  We are incredibly excited for Ryan and look forward to his continued success at the next level.”

GM Matt Dibble added “I am happy for Ryan. He is a super smart kid, and to get an opportunity to attend Amherst and play hockey must be an awesome feeling. We will miss Ryan moving forward but can’t wait to see him play college hockey.”

Amherst is one of the most academically challenging schools in the country.  It also has an phenomenal hockey program that plays in the prestigious NESCAC hockey conference.
