Generals Add Forward Sorock!

Dec 27, 2017

The Northeast Generals today signed Minneapolis High School standout Huck Sorock to a tender for the 2018-2019 season.  The forward is coming of a year where he had 17 goals and 32 points for Minneapolis High in 16-17.  This year Sorock has started off even better with 10 goals and 7 assists for 17 points in his teams first 12 games.

Huck is excited to join the Generals “I chose the Northeast Generals because they are providing me with an incredible opportunity to continue my hockey career at the next level. Making it a no brainier to do so through an organization that strives for success through their great coaching staff, excellent facilities and an amazing location.”

On his strengths as a player, “I see the ice with a high hockey IQ. I’m not afraid of hard work or a battle and am a shooter whenever I get the chance. I play a physical fast paced style of hockey that will benefit me as I move on the to the next level.”

On his future goals, “I plan to make an impact on the Northeast Generals organization and contribute to winning the Robertson Cup while pursuing my dream of furthering my education and playing Division 1 hockey.”

Director of Midwest Scouting Cory Hunt who brought Huck to the attention of the Generals GM Bryan Erikson had this to say, “Huck is one of those players that you hate to play against.  He is physical, relentless on the puck, and gets under your skin.  He isn’t afraid to go to the dirty areas and is rewarded for his effort on the score sheet. He has a high IQ and finds himself in the right areas on both sides of the puck.  Huck fits in perfectly with the culture of the Northeast Generals as a hard working 200 foot player, with high character, and is a leader for his teammates.  Huck has put in a lot of hard work to get to this point and was rewarded this year with a spot in the Minnesota Elite League with Team Northeast. I am looking forward to watching Huck continue to improve the rest of the year with a solid Minneapolis squad and seeing him in a Generals uniform next season!”
