The Generals got back in the win column on Sunday, Nov. 12 in the team’s lone game this week, defeating the visiting New Hampshire Mountain Kings 5-2 to tie for third place in the East Division standings.

The first period of play was a closely contested affair, with the Mountain Kings outshooting the Generals 17 to 11 in the period, but forward Andrew Delladonna got Northeast on the board first after beating the lone defensemen in the zone and tucking the puck around the goaltender to make it a 1-0 through one, his second goal of the season.

New Hampshire responded quickly in the second with a powerplay goal to make it 1-1 two minutes into the period, before the Generals offense exploded. Forward Ben Campeau scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season, including a power play goal, while forward Tyler Ramm found his eighth to give the Generals a 4-1 lead before the Mountain Kings responded late in the period to make it 4-2 by the end of the second buzzer.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net during the third period until forward Frank D’Ancona potted his 11th goal of the season off the rebound to make it a 5-2 game half way through the period. The Mountain Kings fought hard, but were not able to overcome goaltender Toby Hopp, who recorded 39 saves on 41 shots in the victory.

The win against New Hampshire will be the final home game in the month of November for the Generals, as the team will travel to Rochester once again to take on the Jr. Americans Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18 when they return to action later this week.
