Attleboro, Mass. – Signing a tender in the NAHL doesn’t guarantee a call up to the tier II junior hockey league, but for Nolan Zotter the promotion will come this weekend in Maryland. Following the organizations NA3HL game Wednesday afternoon the Northeast Generals announced the call up of the 2003 birth year to the top team for this coming matchup against the first place Maryland Black Bears.
“Nolan is a hardworking individual that is always the smoothest skating player on the ice when he is out there.” Said Associate Head Coach Eric Progen. “His ability to play every position gives us added flexibility and depth in the lineup.”
Zotter was tendered during the 2021-2022 season by the Generals and was called up from the 18u Academy team for a game against the Black Bears, but returned to the academy before eventually joining the NA3HL team for their push for the Fraser Cup.
Coach Progen added “His game wasn’t where it needed to be for the NAHL last season, but he worked hard and has done what we’ve asked to earn another tender and call up to the NA.”
This season Zotter has 43 points on 14 goals and 29 assists in 33 NA3HL games. He is the 5th NA3HL General to be called up to the NAHL this season. Caiden Hess, Braeden Kennedy, Nick Recupero, and D’Mar McCoy (Aberdeen) have all been called up to the tier II league from the Generals NA3HL squad.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday night at the Piney Orchard Arena in Odenton, Md. You can catch Zotter and the rest of the Generals in action on HockeyTV.
