The Northeast Generals of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce that standout D man Steven Ardagna has committed to play his college hockey at Connecticut College for the 2022-23 season.
Generals GM Matt Dibble had this to say about Steve “Steve changed the Generals program forever, and I would imagine he will do the same at Conn. He embodies everything you could ever want in a hockey player and person. We will miss him here next year but wish him the best of luck!”
Steve had a profound impact on the Generals in his 1 season. He came to the Generals as main camp invite, undrafted and non-tendered. He made the team based of his ability, intelligence and hard work. In Ardagna’s one season he had 1 goal and 12 assists for 13 points.
Head Coach Bryan Erikson added “I am going to miss Steve greatly. His impact went far beyond numbers. He will be very hard to replace. Matt (GM Matt Dibble) loved him and to be honest I just didn’t see it at main camp. But everyday I saw something more. I saw his ability but I also saw how the players gravitated towards him. He is a natural leader that is well respected by his teammates and the coaches. He started the year as maybe a 7/8 and soon worked his way up to a player that couldn’t come out of the lineup for what he brought on a day in and day out basis. He played in all situations and was just an amazing kid to Coach. He helped impact the culture and I am so excited for him to have this opportunity at a great academic school and hockey program in Conn College.”
