Our 2nd Award announcement is for the Louis Boudon Award for Outstanding Performer on both the NA3HL and NAHL Generals.
Louis Boudon played for the Generals from 2017-2019 and was one of the best players in the NAHL. Boudon finished his tenure with the Generals as the all time record holder for the NAHL team in Goals (41), Assists (78), Points (119) and Points Per Game (1.102) in 108 games played.
Boudon was also MVP of the NA3HL before joining the Generals. His rise from the NA3HL to the top of the NAHL in 2 quick years was amazing. Early in 2018 Boudon committed to Lake Superior State and last year as a Freshman earned all conference rookie 1st team honors along with Lake State Rookie of the Year. In 40 games as a freshman Boudon had 6 goals and 21 assists for 27 points.
“The excellence Louis played with on the ice came from his work ethic off of the ice. He was not only one of the most skilled players in the league but the hardest working. He is a great example to all players that hard work really can propel you to even greater heights” Said Bryan Erikson.
The NA3HL Generals winner of the Louis Boudon Outstanding Performer Award goes to 2000 Forward, Kolye Bankauskas. Bankauskas had a record breaking year in the NA3HL breaking the record for most goals in a season with 69. He also added 69 assists for a total of 138 points in 47 games. His play not only earned him an NAHL tender but he collected numerous hardware from the NA3HL including: NA3HL MVP, NA3HL Top Forward, NA3HL All First Team, Coastal Division MVP, Coastal Division Top Forward, NA3HL All First Team. Kolye looks to continue in Boudon’s footsteps as he makes the jump to the NAHL next season.
The NAHL Generals winner of the Louis Boudon Outstanding Performer Award goes to 1999 Defenseman, Mick Heneghan. Mick set a new standard for Generals D men with 34 assists good for first in the entire NAHL in assists for a D. His 34 assists are also good for 2nd most assists for any position in a Generals season, and the top D performance (passing current Holy Cross defender Mike Higgins). And Mick’s 37 points were good enough for 3rd most points by a defender in the NAHL this season and the top offensive performer for the Generals.
“Both Mick and Kolye have raised the bar for performance on the ice. They both had extraordinary years but most importantly they are both amazing kids. We are lucky to have both of them as part of the Generals Family. They both had record breaking years but they are also 2 of the most respected players in our locker rooms. Great kids who are fantastic teammates and also happen to be great hockey players. Both are going to have a ton of success in the future.” Said Bryan Erikson
