Jaworski Commits to Sacred Heart

Oct 9, 2018

The Northeast Generals are excited to announce that 2000 Forward, John Jaworski, has committed to play Division 1 NCAA Hockey at Sacred Heart University. Through 6 games with the Generals John has 2 goals and 1 assist while helping the team to a record of 3-3.

John, from Grinnell, Iowa, came to the Generals via the NAHL’s NAPHL tender program. John played the previous 2 years for the Sioux Falls Stampede. Last year playing in the NAPHL for the Stampede, Jaworski had 13 points in 17 games and was a dominant force on both the power play and the penalty kill.

“John has done a great job. We lost a ton of firepower up front from last year’s team and having John step right into a top 6 role for us has been huge.” said Generals Head Coach Joe Lovell. “He is a very intelligent player who plays a full 200 feet and competes on every shift.”

Added GM Bryan Erikson “John works extremely hard and has been a great addition to our team. We are starting to come together as a group and John’s ability to play in all situations is a big reason for that. He has simplified his game and does a great job of getting pucks out of the zone and deep in the offensive zone.”

John will join the Sacred Heart Pioneers for the 2020-2021 season and will hope to make an immediate impact on the Atlantic Hockey Conference member. The Pioneers went 9-15-4 with a young team and look to improve in 2018-2019 and beyond.

The Northeast Generals are proud members of the North American Hockey League. John is the 4th player on this year’s team to have a commitment to play Division 1 College Hockey.
